Experiential Learning on the High Seas
Marine Biology students set sail for an epic experiential lesson. Students spent two days in Alabama at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Upper School science teacher Sarah Pulliam says the experience is important to the students’ understanding of marine environments and how this translates to Louisiana and global issues. Check out Pulliam’s full blog post here.
Building Community Through Service
The annual Habitat for Humanity Youth Build is underway! Episcopal Upper School students work alongside students from other schools in the area to make the dream of homeownership real for a community member. This service-learning experience is an important part of helping students understand the positive impacts they can have on others.
Alumni Story Time
Episcopal alumni returned to campus for the annual Homecoming Week Lower School Read-A-Loud. These former Knights read stories with a Knight theme and taught students new words like alumni, mascot and yearbook.
Quiz Bowl Tournament Keeps Growing
The Episcopal Quiz Bowl team welcomed 21 high schools to campus for the third annual Episcopal Quiz Bowl Tournament. Head Coach Dr. Billy Pritchard says this was the largest tournament the team has hosted thus far. The Episcopal Quiz Bowl team has recently had tremendous success, earning the Division II state championship title and competing in the High School National Championship Tournament. As the team continues to flourish, Dr. Pritchard is joined by Patrick Doring as the new assistant coach, and Kristina St. George is organizing a Middle School squad.
Pollinator Palooza
Insects, bats and spiders, oh my! First graders celebrated everything they’ve learned about pollinators with a Pollinator Palooza. The event featured a bat cave, student-made hats and displays, and fun treats.
