“I hope you see just how old Earth is.” Middle School teacher Jessica O’Neal challenged her 7th grade life science class to create an evolutionary timeline of our home planet. Students established a hypothesis regarding when certain geologic events occurred and then did the math to determine when those events actually happened. The result was that students discovered that the majority of events occurred recently and within the same timeframe. Next, students will research the events and create a presentation of the timeline. Ultimately, they will get an idea of the diversity of life and the interconnectedness of organisms.

“The spirit of giving is alive and well at Episcopal. We give to Episcopal in thanksgiving for the love, joy, and grace it has brought to our lives, and because we are convinced of the good Episcopal is doing in our daughter and our community. Episcopal has influenced our daughter to be a hard worker, dedicated, polite, and caring of others. The campus also provides a secure, safe, and uplifting environment in which to grow and learn. While some schools focus just on academics, Episcopal has allowed our child to develop competence in both academics and extracurricular activities; hence, she has the potential to get into a good college and lead a happy and full life.”

These past two years have shown us the value of health in our community. Episcopal is incredibly grateful to employ two nurses who serve the school. Thanks to generous donations from The eFund, Episcopal was able to hire an additional nurse and create an infirmary specifically for the Lower School. This enabled Lower School students to have personal attention and care and ease the pressure of one nurse being responsible for the medical needs of the whole student body. The addition of Nurse Katie in the Lower School Infirmary has made it possible to contact trace during the Covid-19 pandemic and keep students healthy and safe while on campus.
