The Knights athletics program boasts on-campus facilities to support each sport. By day, many of these facilities serve as physical education sites. After school, these venues play host to exciting Lower, Middle and Upper School contests where rivalries are fought and champions are crowned. Read more about our facilities and the home-field advantage they provide.

Episcopal students have the opportunity to experience the new 23,000 square foot Episcopal Field House. This new facility boasts 10,000 square feet of weight training, cardio training and exercise space, including a 1,000 square foot indoor turf area. The field house has an on-site training and sports medicine program with cold and hot soaking tubs, ultrasound therapy, and electrical stimulation machines. The facility also features five locker rooms and two classrooms to accommodate an assortment of student athletes throughout the year.

The Main Gym is a 23,378 square foot facility that is home primarily to physical education and boys and girls basketball.  There are three locker room spaces and separate coaches offices, five adjacent classrooms, including “G5,” which is used as indoor team film study, team walk-through and fitness space, a multipurpose space with rubberized flooring, and a concession stand that services both gymnasiums.  In addition, the Main Gym holds our main competition court for our basketball teams named in 2016 in memory of alumnae, Felisha Foster ‘88.  The Main Gym can hold a max attendance of 700 people.

Episcopal’s campus boasts four grass practice field areas.  From a full-scale football/soccer field like the main practice field to smaller flag football and youth soccer areas, such as the “Back 40,” each field can be transformed throughout the year to accommodate a host of Middle and Upper School athletic practices.

The Episcopal swimming pool is a 25-meter, eight-lane, heated outdoor pool that serves as the on-campus practice facility for the Episcopal Knights swim team. Additionally, physical education classes use the space for kayaking, fly fishing, swimming, and more throughout the year.  The attached swim pavilion is an outdoor covered multi-use space that allows for drylands exercising, meeting space, non-severe weather shelter, two equipment closets, and two full-service locker rooms.

The outdoor stadium on the campus of Episcopal seats nearly 2,000 patrons in the stands and has over 1,000 linear feet of spectator standing room around the track and field.  Memorial Field and Track is host to football, boys and girls soccer, cross country, and track and field.  The field is professionally maintained throughout the year by Episcopal’s full-time grounds department. The eight-lane, 400-meter track features dual long/triple jump sandpits, a dual-direction pole vault pad, a high jump area, and a shot put pit (discus and javelin spaces are located on one of the adjacent practice fields).

The Phillips Gym is a 16,679 square foot facility that is home primarily to physical education, girls volleyball, and boys wrestling.  The facility was renovated with the grace of the Phillips Family in memory of their daughter and Episcopal student athlete, Annslee Laura Phillips ‘00.  The renovated facility was improved to house dual locker rooms, a mezzanine currently home to the Knights wrestling team, coaches’ offices, and the main competition court for our girls volleyball team.
The “Coach Dupe” Trail is an outdoor walking and running trail that was constructed in 2013 and dedicated to longtime Episcopal Cross Country and Track Coach Claney Duplechin.  The trail winds through the Episcopal campus and is used by physical education classes, science classes, and distance runners.  Additionally, members of the Woodland Ridge subdivision often use the trail outside of school hours.

The E Court is a synthetic surfaced outdoor area that is used by Upper and Middle School athletic teams throughout the year.  A great space for a field team that needs a hard surface after a day of rain or home to our Middle School basketball practices, this outdoor space creates another great facility for all Episcopal students to enjoy.  The useful surface also includes six basketball goals and appropriately measured markings.

The ballpark is the exclusive host to Episcopal’s baseball and softball teams. A two-story indoor pressbox, locker room, and concessions facility sits in between both professionally maintained and award-winning fields.  The fields were renovated in 2019 including unintrusive backstop netting spanning first base to third base.  Additionally, both fields have full-service electronic scoreboards and first and third base semi-protected dugouts.  The ballpark also contains a covered batting cage facility with the accessories to convert from a softball pitchers circle to an appropriately raised baseball pitcher's mound.

The tennis courts at Episcopal are five professionally coated hard courts that are home to the Episcopal tennis team and physical education classes.  The courts were strategically built and designed to sit lower than the surrounding green space so that the space around the courts serves as a natural grandstand for the large number of tennis matches hosted at Episcopal.
