2024 Fall Art Show

October 23rd, 2024

Cats, couples, leaves and more. This fall’s student art show has something for everyone and highlights students in all divisions. Families are invited to stop by the Visual & Performing Arts Center lobby to check out the artistic talent on display now through October 31.

The fall exhibit features colorful works representing non-representational art and a special fall-themed Lower School display. New Lower School art teacher Catherine Russell organized the Lower School contributions around a fall theme that features leaves, owls, corn and pumpkins. A few unexpected takes on the theme included the second grade “Spooky Selfies” inspired by a study of Tim Burton characters and PreK-3 monster faces inspired by the story “Big Green Monster.”

“Kids are always excited to share their work,” says Russell. “It makes them very proud to be a part of something bigger than themselves.” She hopes art lovers will be equally excited to see the progression and growth that Lower School students make as they move through the art program. With Middle and Upper School works on display, viewers also get a perspective on the artistic growth that occurs from PreK-3 to Upper School.

Arts education is a key component of the Episcopal experience, with 90% of students participating. Students are encouraged to explore an array of arts opportunities, including media arts, painting, drawing, ceramics, film studies, dance, theatre, musical theatre, band and choir. Professional teacher/artists help students develop their talents, and a strong arts community supports students as they grow in their abilities.

Don’t miss the fall art show on display now in the Visual & Performing Arts Center lobby.
