Lower School Families,
We had a wonderful week in the Lower School!
Students celebrated International Dot Day on Monday, inspired by Peter Reynold’s book, The Dot. In advance of this day, students created artwork with Mrs. Russell, learning how, with just one dot, they can be brave, make their mark, and encourage others on life’s journey! Student “dot” artwork is displayed throughout the Lower School. Students also created this special Knights project. It’s worth a watch!
Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off on Monday, and students will celebrate Hispanic heritage each day during Morning Meeting and Wednesday chapel services with various presentations. It’s not too late to reach out to Senora Moreira ([email protected]) if you’d like to share during a Spanish class or during Morning Meeting.
Thank you for supporting our Professional Development Day on Wednesday. Teachers spent the day in an incredible Responsive Classroom Workshop. Responsive Classroom is an evidence-based approach to teaching that creates safe, joyful, and engaging classrooms and school communities.
Important Information & Reminders
- Toolbox Tuesday - Mrs. Lofland’s lesson this week featured courage, our theme of the week. Here is her lesson.
- In the QUEST Center this week, Early Childhood built homes for their families using various building materials and pretend play people. They also used color paddles to discover what colors they can make when they mix two different colors. 5th graders in Mrs. Laugier’s homeroom used block coding to animate their names and code a story in Scratch.
- 9/22 Karnival Knight - The School Store closes for all gear orders.
