Lower School Newsletter

Lower School Families,

The school year begins soon, and we can’t wait to have your family on campus with us! 

Now through the end of the year, we’ll share Lower School Parent Newsletters with you each Friday. Parent newsletters will be posted on our school website>resources, along with an archive of previous newsletters. Please be sure to also check out the links below: Lower School Resources, School Calendar, and Weekly Lunch Menu.  The Lower School Resources will include more specific details about upcoming events or other important information.

Tasks to Complete

• 8/4 - The Authorized Adults form must be completed by this date. This informs us who may (or may not) pick up your child from school. A link to this form is on the Lower School Resources.
• 8/4 - Quarter 1 After-School Club Enrollment closes on this date. If you’d like to enroll your child in a club, the clubs booklet can be found in the Lower School Resources. Enrollment instructions are in the booklet.

Back-to-School Events - Please see Back-to-School Events on the Lower School Resources for additional details.

• 8/7 or 8/8 - PreK3-Kindergarten Orientation Days are by appointment. 
• 8/7 from 8:00-10:00 - 1st-5th grade Orientation Day is an open-house style event. Don’t forget to bring your student’s Summer Reading Log to school to show off all that great summer reading!
• 8/7 - 8:00-10:00 Family Social & 9:00 Backpack Blessing Ceremony is for all PreK3-5th grade students and families. Both the Family Social and Backpack Blessing Ceremony take place on Patio Park.
• 8/8 - This is the first day of school for our 1st - 5th graders.
• 8/11 - This is a special, first day for our Early Childhood students, including the Let Go Ceremony and Tears & Cheers. 

Arrival & Dismissal Instructions - New families are encouraged to review these routines, which may be found in the Lower School Resources.

Class Lists

• 1st - 5th Grade class lists will be emailed directly to 1st-5th grade families today.
• PreK3 - Kindergarten class lists will be shared on Friday, 8/8.

Tray Helpers

• Please consider serving as a Tray Helper this year! You can sign up on the Lower School Resources.
• If you’re a new Tray Helper this year, please join us for a training session. The dates are below.

Team Talyn - Please keep Talyn, an Episcopal 5th grader, in your prayers. Recently diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, Talyn and her family are receiving excellent care at St. Jude’s Hospital. Team Talyn t-shirts may be purchased through our School Store, with all proceeds going directly to the family. Additional donations for the family may also be made through our School Store. Lower School students are invited to wear Team Talyn t-shirts, with uniform bottoms, each Tuesday this year – dedicated as Team Talyn Tuesdays, lifting her in prayer as a community. We anticipate t-shirts will be delivered near the end of August.  On behalf of the family, thank you for your prayers and support.
