I am interested in science. I created a Science Olympiad Club so EHS students could participate in competitions and then expanded the club with guest speakers to learn about professions and volunteer opportunities.
How long have you attended Episcopal?
I have attended Episcopal since the first grade.
What is your favorite Episcopal activity?
I am a part of the Episcopal Students Taking Action in Advanced Research (ESTAAR) program and enjoy the opportunity to research with LSU. I recently won first place in the Junior Humanities and Science Symposium poster competition for my research on the therapeutic potential of Lung Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Klebsiella Pneumoniae.
What do you enjoy most about Episcopal?
I really like how students are encouraged to take charge in areas they feel like exploring more deeply. We can reach out to faculty to help create a club, for example, or ask for advice to follow our interests outside of school.
What is your favorite academic subject?
I am interested in science, especially biology and chemistry. I enjoy learning more about the intricacies of natural processes.
What class assignment is most memorable?
In chemistry, we had to relate chemistry to a topic outside of school. I researched the chemical processes linked to pain and how exactly pain medications and relievers change pain sensation.
What extracurricular activities are you in?
I love taking part in FRAME and Wind Ensemble. I have also led the Junior Classical League Club, am co-editor-in-chief of the Troubadour, and am part of the community service leadership team. Outside of Episcopal, I am a classical dancer, an EKAM state volunteer coordinator where I organize fundraisers for local and international health initiatives and am part of the LSU Math Circle.
