JASON HANKS, ED.D. ENGLISH TEACHER.

Upper School English teacher Jason Hanks, Ed.D, has a wealth of expertise in the field of education, having served as a Dean of Academics, Assistant Principal, University of San Francisco Adjunct Professor and educational consultant. Hanks was an English teacher, mentor teacher and ACT prep club advisor at Liberty Magnet High School. He served in numerous roles during his 13-year tenure at Catholic High School, including Assistant Principal for Instruction, Assistant Principal for Formation, Assistant Principal for Discipline and numerous club moderator positions. He also served as the St. Joseph’s Academy Dean of Academics. Hanks earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University with a dissertation titled “Data-Driven Decision Making in Private/Religious Schools.” He was awarded the Dr. Preston B. Allison Outstanding Dissertation Award for his work. He has presented at the National AP Conference in Washington, DC, the National Catholic Educational Association, the Louisiana Research Association Conference and the Mid-South Research Educational Association. He was named the 2013 National Catholic Educational Association Distinguished Secondary Educator of the Year for the Diocese of Baton Rouge. He participated in a teaching mission trip to Zambia and the Coindre Leadership Program in Lyon, France.
